Information on various things you may like to do!

7/7/2010

This page has information on how to use the surgery efficiently and effectively.

We have recently changed our booking system in line with the Government's target of "48 hour access". To book an appointment you need to call the surgery on the day that you require the appointment.

Need the telephone number? Call 0117 962 3406. It is now possible to book your appointment online (read more).

GOLDEN RULES FOR APPOINTMENTS

If you decide that your appointment is no longer needed, please ring up and cancel so that someone else can have the appointment instead.
Does more than one family member need to see the doctor? If so, please make a separate appointment for each person.
If you have several different problems to discuss, please make a longer appointment or separate appointments. Your doctor has only 10 minutes for each routine consultation.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS

There were a significaant number of missed appointments last month. Please ensure that if you cannot keep your appointment you ring the surgery to cancel it, we can then offer it to someone else.

The doctors are able to give telephone advice in themorning. We now offer booked telephone appointments where the doctor will be able to ring you back. These can be prebooked and may save you an appointment  (unfortunately we cannot guarantee a time to ring back due to patient demand). Please ask reception if you wish to book in for one of these.

Once you have had a test, you will need to call the surgery for the results. You should contact the surgery after 2 pm and if you have a specimen you should leave it with your name and a date at the surgery before 2pm.

Have a look at our page on requesting a home visit.

If you are in the surgery we display a notice informing you of how to make a complaint and a supply of forms are available for your use. Alternatively you could ask to see our practice manager.

If they are not visiting the practice they should write to the practice manager and he will respond within two days.
