Endoscopy at Westbury on Trym Primary Care Centre

I am delighted to let you know that we shall very shortly be building an endoscopy unit at the practice.

Patients with symptoms such as heartburn, indigestion, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea and bleeding from the back passage can be investigated here instead of being referred to hospital.

The practice will host an endoscopy unit and we shall also be running clinics. GP’s from other Bristol practices are being invited to refer their patients to this service.

We hope both patients and their GP’s will benefit from a quality service that: -

• Delivers safe, efficient and effective care.
• Is run by local and experienced clinicians who have been performing endoscopy for many years.
• Have short waiting times.
• Delivers care closer to the patient’s home and in a community setting.

There will alas be some disruption whilst building work is carried out and we apologise for any noise or disruption.

However I am sure you will agree the benefits form such a service are well worth any short term inconvenience.
