Clinics and Services
Sue Weston and Charlotte Ackerman are our Healthcare Assistant and Phlebotomists. As well as taking blood samples they also perform health checks, blood pressure checks, assist in minor surgery and many other duties.
Sue and Charlotte work under the direction of our Practice Nurses and will also seek support from our GPs and Nurse Practitioners when required.
NHS Health Checks
We currently offer a service called ‘NHS Health Checks’. This aims to detect high blood pressure or cholesterol, or if your lifestyle is putting you at risk of heart disease or diabetes. You will be given information and advice from our trained HCA as part of the appointment.
If you are aged between 40 and 74 without a pre-existing health condition such as diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease or stroke, you are entitled to have an NHS Health Check every 5 years. Please call the practice to make an appointment for this.
Other Services We Host
Your GP may refer you to a specialist Physiotherapist through the MATS service for assessment. The Westbury On Trym Primary Care Centre hosts Physiotherapists for this service on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The service is operated by Bristol Community Health and they arrange your appointment. This service is for patients from many surgeries in Bristol, not just our patients.
