Appointments during the Covid-19 pandemic


Westbury-on-Trym Primary Care Centre has implemented the following measures in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and guidance issued by NHS England and Public Health England: We are delivering appointments by telephone, by video calls and messages to mobiles/computers and face-to-face.  We will assess the most appropraite for you but and if you have a preference you can discuss this with us.  

Unfortunately, you will not be able to walk directly into the surgery so that we keep our patients safe.  We will still be completing urgent and/or important planned care but this will be organised at certain times of day to manage footfall to the practice and only if during a telephone consultation a clinician decides that you need to be seen.

If you need to come into the surgery then we will ensure that both you and other patients (who may be elderly or vulnerable) are kept as safe as possible.  Please wear a mask at all times.  The reception team will check that you are free from COVID-19 symptoms and you will be asked to sanitise your hands.    

You may find the dedicated NHS 111 coronavirus site a useful source of information. All patients contacting us with cough, fever, or cold-like symptoms, will be triaged and may be directed to use the 111 symptom tracker (online) service.  You should only seek advice if you are unable to manage your symptoms at home. It is also important to self-isolate if you are unwell. The latest public health guidance can be found here. 

Please help us where you can by self-caring for all minor injuries and illnesses and visiting for information. This site also gives you access to an online service. 

All routine appointments at the surgery will be delivered by telephone at the current time but if you need to be seen then this will be arranged.
