Westbury-on-Trym Primary Care Centre has implemented the following measures in response to guidance issued by NHS England and Public Helath England.

As of 16th March we are moving to a phone first model.

You will not be able to walk directly into the surgery.

All face to face appointments have been suspended.  If you already have an existing appointment booked with us, this will now be a telephone consultation and the GP/Nurse will contact you.  We will still be completing some urgent and/or important planned care but this will be organised at certain times of day and only if during a telephone consultation a clinician decides that you need to be seen.

You may find the dedicated 111 coronavirus site a useful source of information CLICK HERE

All patients contacting us with cough, fever, or cold like symptoms, will br tiraged, and may be directed to use the 111 symptom tracker (online) service.  You should only seek advice if you are unable to manage your symptoms at home. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOME.

If you are worried about the virus, you can read the latest public health guidance HERE - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-information-for-the-public

Parents of school age children that would like general advice can phone the Department for Education Helpline on 0800 046 8687

Email: DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk Opening hours: 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday)

Self-care and Prescriptions

Please help us where you can by self caring for all minor injuries and illnesses and visiting www.nhs.uk for information. This site also gives you access to an online service.  All routine appointments at the surgery will be deferred at this time.

Prescription services are not affected EXCEPT that we aim to process 100% electronically, so we will ask you to nominate a pharmacy if you haven't already.

Early Prescriptions and additional medications will not be given, so please wait until your next batch is due

Self Care is the actions that individuals take for themselves, on behalf of and with others in order to develop, protect, maintain and improve their health, wellbeing or wellness. See the following website here or access our wellbeing toolkit.
