Patient Board Newsletter
Autumn/Winter 2025
Podcast
In August the surgery launched the first podcast episode which covered an introduction to the surgery and how to access the services provided. It is hosted by our practice Manager Catherine Farrington and one of the GP partners Dr Adrian Burt. Join them in conversation as Dr Burt shares his insight with regards to the history of the surgery and the range of services we provide. Alongside this you can find out more about the team as well as how you can contact us. The podcast has been designed to support patients with access to our services, provide information about the services we offer and acknowledge the challenges that face the NHS at this time. The surgery hopes to offer monthly episodes focusing on the topics that are important to you. The second podcast episode was launched mid September. In this episode, join Dr Amy Davies, one of the GP Partners and lead nurse Gemma Jones talk about all aspects of women’s health.
Westbury Hill Public Car Park
The proposed charges to the car park outside the surgery will progress to the next stage, a traffic regulation order (TRO). During this time the plans will be available for comment during a 3 weekly consultation period. The council has to take into account the number of objections before
proceeding with the charges, the more objections the longer it will take.
The Patient Board’s and WoTSoC’s (Westbury on Trym Society) involvement in the car park charging proposals have been valuable and have helped secure a free first hour and this will be available to those who do not use digital applications.
Jhoots Pharmacy
The surgery has recently received a number of queries relating to the pharmacy located at Westbury-On-Trym Primary Care Centre. The surgery would like patients to understand that, although Jhoots Pharmacy is located within the premises, it is a separately owned business, and we have no involvement in its management or operation. If you are experiencing difficulties with regards to your medication/if you are not able to source your medication via Jhoots, please contact the surgery and we will support you to source it elsewhere. With regards to concerns relating to Jhoots directly, please report these to the relevant MP Contact — Darren Jones MP.
